As a child you can be “put in a hole” by the people around you (hopefully, not literally)…

More likely, as a child, you “received” a mindset that led you to believe that by “digging,” you would gain something.

You grow up informed by the people and institutions around you on how to “dig” in each part of your life… Then you start digging into the world of work, relationships, financial responsibility, having a family, etc…

…then you start to get annoyed by the flecks of dirt that shower your head with each shovel…and you keep digging…

…the air you breathe is thick and dank…and you keep digging…

…you get tired so you drink loads of coffee so you can keep digging…

Digging that hole has momentum…

BUT, sooner or later, it starts to dawn on you…

“Once you are an adult, only you can change your mind. When a child, others can change it.” -Paraphrasing Dr. Andrew Huberman, neuroscientist

As an adult, only you can get yourself out of whatever hole you’re in. No one is coming to save you. No one else can save you. So, stop digging!
